Why is one side of the slippage triangle not outlined black?

The side of the triangle that is not outlined in black represents ‘instantaneous’ slippage whereas the side outlined black represents ‘average slippage’

What is the difference between ‘Reported Date’ and ‘Milestone Date’?

Reported Date is the date that the project manager provides you with a project status update. This may be weekly, monthly or quarterly, whatever has been agreed by the Steering Committee. The first Reported Date is the date on which the project was baselined. The second and third Reported Dates are when the project manager provided subsequent project status updates.

Milestone Date is the date on which the selected milestone is due to occur. The first Milestone Date will be the one set at project baseline. The second and third dates are dates for the same milestone provided at later reporting dates. These later Milestone Dates may have been amended due to project slippage.

With InControl, how do I re-baseline a project?

STEP 1. Open the milestone edit screen.

STEP 2. Select the top date under ‘Date Reported’ and change it to the current date, or the date the project re-baseline was approved.

STEP 3. Select the second date under ‘Date Reported’ and change it to the next anticipated reporting date.

STEP 4. Select the third date under ‘Date Reported’ and change it to the anticipated reporting date after STEP 3.

STEP 5. Select the top date under ‘Milestone Date’ and change it to the newly approved delivery date for the milestone. You will see that the second and third dates below this automatically re-set to the same baseline date.

STEP 6. Press save.

That’s it! You are ready to continue monitoring against the newly agreed schedule.
